Grisaille Portrait of Legendary Italian shoe maker. Was a one of my study project.

Three day grisaille portrait study completed of a legendary shoe maker Salvatore Ferragamo at Angel Academy of Fine Art in Florence.

John Angel Maestro who opened the Angel Academy of Fine Art in Florence was taught by old master Pietro Annigoni who painted the original portrait of this famous shoe maker.

Remember the famous image of Marilyn Monroe in a beautiful gown wearing matching Swarovski-studded shoes singing, ‘Happy birthday Mr President’? Or the iconic picture of her in a pair of pretty white sandals trying to stop her frock from billowing on the pavement in The Seven Year Itch? Now guess which brand of shoes she was wearing on both those occasions. Give up? Well, they were created by Salvatore Ferragamo.
