Honoured time

Writer: Dina PerejoginaDina Perejogina

Just want it to announce the appreciation of my challenging but at the same time very honoured project I’ve been commissioned to do! I’ve been asked to recreate on three different canvases three legend racing Horses of are time.I’m on my second painting of the one of them called “Desert Orchid”

He is known:

-I don’t know if many horses can tell their left foot from their right but Dessie did. He had a much better race record running round right-handed tracks, perhaps because of his tendency to drift right when tiring. Whatever the reasoning, Desert Orchid was an equine superstar and caught the public’s imagination like no other racehorse. When I worked in a stable yard as a teenager, Dessie was only just starting to become famous. He was popular because he was plucky and liked to attack the field. The grey colouring made him eye-catching too – he stood out from the rest. Dessie won most of the major events but he was most famous for winning the King George VI Chase four times, as well as the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1989. Desert Orchid always looked like a winner. I would have loved to have ridden him.
